The global energy system is undergoing profound change, with rising demand, rapid technological innovation, and urgent environmental pressures reshaping how the world must plan for the decades ahead.

To help audiences understand these complex dynamics, BP developed its Technology Outlook — a major piece of data-driven analysis combining internal research with insights from external experts to map out potential pathways toward secure, affordable and environmentally sustainable energy.
Our role was to translate this dense body of research into an engaging 90-second animated film that could open the Technology Outlook launch event and clearly communicate its core messages to a global audience.

Working closely with the teams at BP and communications agency thebigwindow, we distilled key findings into a concise narrative structure. From there, we crafted a visual language capable of simplifying technical concepts without losing scientific rigour. The animation combines motion graphics, iconography and dynamic infographic sequences to guide viewers through the interrelated challenges of demand, technology, efficiency and emissions.
The project demonstrates our strengths in transforming complex subject matter into accessible storytelling, developing clear visual metaphors for abstract ideas, and producing polished, high-impact motion graphics suitable for high-profile events. We worked through every stage — script refinement, storyboarding, illustration, animation, sound design and final delivery — ensuring the film was accurate, immersive and aligned with BP’s wider campaign identity.
The final animation resonated far beyond the event itself, quickly attracting more than 600,000 views on YouTube and helping broaden public understanding of the energy transition.
We work best with organisations who need more than an off-the-shelf website—those looking for tailored solutions that make a real difference.
