Making things for the web

Our people

Jon

JonAlthough Jon went to art school, he couldn’t stop fiddling with HTML. After being commissioned to complete a couple of art projects, including spending a week in a gallery making a scale model of Notting Hill Gate and modifying it to local residents’ requests, he decided interactivity was better suited to the internet. Before he knew it, he was a Web Designer. And although that’s still a great thing to be, in the 1990s, it sounded really good. For several years, Jon worked in publishing and for design agencies, doing everything from producing zillions of micro-sites and digital communications for corporate clients to massive CMS-driven sites. By 2002, Jon felt compelled to set-up Line Industries offering well designed and effective websites alongside a genuinely responsive service.

Tim

TimTim likes computers and particularly games consoles; he’s not so fond of the outdoors! He also has an encyclopaedic knowledge of cross-browser testing and what needs to be done to meet accessibility guidelines. Needless to say, we trust him with producing standards compliant websites. When he’s not in front of a computer, he can be heard bashing out power chords on his Banjo or anything else.

Danielle

DanielleOn the days when Danielle arrives without a cycling mishap, she designs smashing websites, writes super-clean CSS and takes a hard-line approach with Baloo (see below). Although her degree in Interactive Design is pretty handy, it’s the other degree, in Psychology and Neuroscience, that keeps us on the straight and narrow. She’s also been known to spend her spare time crafting the perfect Play-Doh typeface.

Ceri

CeriAlthough there’s a geeky side to all of us, Ceri is the geekiest of us all. He gets his kicks from really thorough site testing. Ceri has been churning out software for years and is particularly proud of his skills on the Acorn Electron. However, after 9 years of industry experience, his favourite toys are ASP.NET, C# and SQL Server. Ceri helped to develop and maintain the registry operations for a top-level Internet domain. He’s also worked as a consultant with several global investment banks, not to mention his MSc in Computer Science.

Yang

YangYang fuels himself for the day with the heady breakfast combination of Coke Zero and Pineapple. He grew up between Germany and Beijing and is fluent in German, Mandarin Chinese and English not to mention a wealth of programming languages.

When he’s not helping Ceri conquer the challenges of web development he can be found snapping away with his Lomo Fisheye camera.

James

JamesJames is the most organised of us all, he helps ensure we deliver projects on time and within budget. Before joining us he managed the production of web and mobile content and spent a number of years travelling the globe as a photographers assistant. In his spare time he can be found at dawn photographing shop fronts in retail parks, if you’re curious just ask him.

Baloo

BalooBaloo’s a dog. What he lacks in experience, he makes up for in enthusiasm. Baloo joined Line Industries at eight weeks old, ensuring that, for those first few weeks, we mopped the office floor at least twelve times a day. If you’re visiting, you’ll be pleased to know he’s grown out of that.
